If you are under the age of 45 and you wear boot-cut jeans, you honestly scare me.

You know the pleated / “maxi” skirt thing, and the blazer thing? Well I haven’t been able to wear either of them. Pleated skirts make my hips look awkwardly wide and in a blazer I look like, I don’t know, an older lady who wears a blazer, like a woman going to work or something. I don’t want to look like that because … you know, work. Now, I happen to own both articles of clothing — the long pleated skirt is a recent thrift store find and I got the little fitted blazer at Old Navy Probably ten years ago now — and I never wear either of them, for the aforementioned reasons. But today when I was trying on outfits in an effort to cheer myself up I discovered that if I wear them BOTH TOGETHER both pieces look great, and it is a fantastic outfit. That plus flat ankle boots and a colorful little top under the blazer, dangling earrings and my short hair, and I am serving Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink and it’s just the best. Cheered me right up, it did.
